A Tree in South Park, 2021
Photo transfer on fabric, collective process
A fragmented photograph is pieced back together to form a new, collective narrative – one of captured presence rather than particular individualized referentiality. By deconstructing a direct representation of an experienced reality, this ritualistic re-stitching creates a multilayered map of shared being. The materialization of a different, unknown image allows us to envision a future perhaps less certain in shape and form, but full of potentiality and light.
